Clearing drains with a jet blaster
A jet blaster sends water at high pressure through a drain to break up and flush out what’s blocking it, such as roots, grease and silt. It’s how we clear most blocked sewers and stormwater lines.
We often follow it with a drain camera to make sure the line is clear. The price is fixed before we start.
Good to know
- We need a way into the line, such as an inspection opening, a gully or a pit.
- If there isn’t one, we can add an inspection opening.
- If roots keep coming back, the pipe may be broken. See sewer repairs.

Prospect, October 2026: roots cleared from a blocked sewer
The customer was having sewer blockages on their property. We used our jet blaster to clear the sewer and pulled out the roots that were causing the blockages. Then we cleaned up and tested the sewer to make sure it was flowing properly.
Greystanes, October 2026: a blocked gully cleared
A homeowner’s kitchen sink was blocking up and draining slowly. We found the gully outside blocked and overflowing, set up our jetter and cleared it. Grease and oil poured down the sink had caused it. We ran the sink to make sure it drained properly, then cleaned up.
Kenthurst, July 2026: blocked downpipes cleared
The customer had multiple blocked downpipes on the property. We removed all the debris from the pits, then cleared all the lines with our jet blaster. We used a CCTV camera to make sure the lines were clear and in good condition.

Adding an inspection opening
In Norwest in August 2026, a café’s HDPE sewer line had no inspection opening for clearing. We cut a new opening into the line and welded it, cleared the blockage with our jet blaster, then ran our CCTV camera through the line to check for other blockages.
Why gullies block
Fats and oil poured down the kitchen sink set hard in the pipe and the gully over time. Scrape plates into the bin and wipe greasy pans before washing them.
What does jet blasting cost?
The price is fixed before any work starts. It depends on:
- The length and size of the line.
- How we get into it, and whether a new inspection opening is needed.
- Whether a camera inspection is needed afterwards.
Checking the job and pricing it is free on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, when there is no call-out fee. Book online and you’ll save $50, once you accept the quote.
