What is pipe relining?
Pipe relining fixes cracked, leaking and root damaged pipes from the inside, without digging up your yard. All Day Plumbing provides pipe relining across Sydney, from our base in Seven Hills to Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills and the rest of the Hills District. We CCTV your pipes first, show you the problem, and give you an upfront, all-inclusive price before any work starts.
Pipe relining puts a new pipe inside your old one. We clean the damaged pipe, then install a flexible liner soaked in resin. The liner is pressed against the old pipe wall and the resin cures hard. You end up with a smooth, sealed pipe with no joints for roots to get into.
It works on sewer pipes, stormwater lines and other drains, from 40mm up to 600mm. It is also called drain relining, sewer pipe relining or trenchless pipe repair. For a longer explanation, read our guide on what pipe relining is.
Signs your pipes may need relining

Digging up the pipe
Digging up a broken pipe means a trench through whatever is on top of it. That can be lawn, gardens, paving, a driveway or a slab. Then it all has to be put back.
Relining the pipe
Relining usually works through existing access points, such as an inspection opening or a manhole. Where there is no access, we open up one small section instead of the whole run. Less digging means less mess, less restoration and less time with your drains out of action.
Relining is not right for every pipe. If a section has fully collapsed or lost its shape, digging and replacing that section can be the better fix. CCTV inspection and locating
We run a CCTV camera through the line to find the damage, measure the length and check the access points.
Upfront price
You get an all-inclusive price for the job. The price is agreed before work starts.
Pipe preparation
We clean the pipe with high pressure water jet blasting and specialised cutting heads. This removes roots, scale and debris so the liner can bond to the pipe wall.
HD CCTV check of the prep
We run the camera again to make sure the preparation is complete before any liner goes in.
Liner installation
The liner is impregnated with a 2 part epoxy resin and installed by our own trained team, as specified by the Brawoliner manufacturer. Where a branch line joins the main line, we can seal the junction with a satellite patch.
Curing and quality control
We allow the resin to cure fully. Then we run HD CCTV through the new liner for quality control.
Test, commission and clean up
We test and commission the work, and clean up the site before we leave.
Recent pipe relining jobs
Sewer relining in Castle Hill, no digging
This sewer line ran from an inspection opening to a shaft, then on to the mains connection. Here is what we did:
- Prepared the full line with high pressure water jet blasting and specialised cutting heads
- Checked the prep with HD CCTV
- Relined 15 metres of 4 inch (100mm) pipe from the inspection opening to the shaft, using a liner impregnated with 2 part epoxy resin
- Relined a further 4 metres of 4 inch pipe from the shaft to the mains connection, using the same method
- Installed by our trained staff as specified by the Brawoliner manufacturer
- Ran HD CCTV again for quality control, then tested, commissioned and cleaned up
The reline works on this job carry a 35 year material guarantee, with a 50 year life expectancy.
Sewer relining and junction repair at a commercial site in Baulkham Hills
This job had a damaged sewer line and a junction under a busy area. There was no easy access, so we planned two small access points instead of lifting the whole floor.
- Fenced off and secured the work area
- Cut a section of concrete about 1 m by 1 m
- Excavated to expose the sewer line, about 600mm deep
- Cut out a 1 m section of pipe to give access for the inversion reline
- Isolated the water and removed a toilet for the second access point
- Installed about 3 m of inversion reline and 1 satellite patch to seal the junction
- Let the resin cure, then confirmed the result with CCTV
- Reinstated the pipework and raised an inspection opening outside for future maintenance
- Backfilled with blue metal for support, reinstated the bitumen and refitted the toilet
- Tested, commissioned and cleaned up
The new inspection opening means future downstream access can happen outside, without lifting the toilet again.
Stormwater relining, 300mm line
We also reline larger stormwater lines. The CCTV shots below show a 300mm stormwater line before and after relining.
What affects the cost of pipe relining?
Every relining job is priced after a CCTV inspection, because no two pipes are the same. The main things that affect the price are:
- Length. How many metres need relining.
- Pipe size. We reline pipes from 40mm up to 600mm. Larger diameters use more liner and resin.
- Junctions or patches. Each branch connection may need its own patch, and patches vary from job to job.
- Access. Whether there is an inspection opening or we need to open up a small section.
- Prep work. Heavy roots or scale take longer to clear.
- Reinstatement. Any concrete, bitumen or fittings that need putting back.
