    Toilet installation

Every type of toilet, fitted and tested

A licensed plumber measures up, fits the new toilet, tests every joint and clears away the old one. We install every type, from a simple close-coupled swap to a wall-hung suite with its cistern hidden in the wall. The price is fixed before we start.

    Measure before you buy

A new toilet has to match the waste pipe it connects to:

    • S-trap or P-trap. On an S-trap toilet, the outlet goes down into a collar in the floor. On a P-trap toilet, it runs back into a collar in the wall.
    • The set-out. This is the distance from the wall or floor to the centre of the waste pipe. Each toilet lists the set-out range it fits.
    • The water inlet. The cistern’s hose can enter at the bottom, through the back or out of sight. Check where your stop tap is.
    • The space. Leave room in front of the pan, and check the door still opens.

Unsure what you have? Send a photo of the toilet and the floor or wall around it, and we’ll tell you what fits before you buy. Text it directly to Daniel on 0405 030 479, or email it to [email protected].

    New pan

Blackett, September 2026: a broken pan matched to its cistern

At a school, a toilet pan had broken. We disconnected the old pan and took it away, then fitted a new pan made for the existing cistern. It was tested and the area cleaned before we left.

    Rebuilt

Glenwood, September 2026: a damaged toilet rebuilt from the floor

Vandals had damaged a toilet at a school. We removed the cistern, flush pipe and buttons, then used a jackhammer to break out the damaged sand and cement bed under the pan. A new suite went in with new fittings, and several test flushes showed no leaks. A new seat and a bead of silicone finished it.

    New suite

Seven Hills, July 2026: an old suite swapped for a Caroma Luna

The old plastic toilet suite had discoloured, and the owners wanted a clean, modern look. They picked a Caroma Luna close-coupled suite. We measured up and quoted on site, then fitted it the next morning.

    Christian S.★★★★★

“Today I had Johnny from all day plumbing come out and change 4 toilets around my home. His professionalism was unmatched we wanted to change the style of all the toilets to close couple toilets. Johnny came and measured out what toilets will suit the pipe placement. He showed us all the different options that we could choose and what was available. He proceeded to complete all the works. After completing the works he ensured that me and my wife were satisfied with his work, everything was installed to a high standard and we had nothing to complain about overall he was efficient and professional. Would highly recommend all day plumbing.”

    What we fit

    Toilet types we install

    • Close-coupled. The cistern sits on the back of the pan, so the flush pipe is hidden. It is the usual choice for a straight swap.
    • Connector. A short flush pipe links the cistern to the pan, which allows more freedom in the layout.
    • Back-to-wall. The pan sits flush against the wall, so the pipes are hidden and there is no gap to clean behind.
    • Wall-hung. The cistern and its frame sit inside the wall, and only the pan and the button show. It needs wall work, so it suits a renovation.
    • Accessible toilets for people with limited mobility. More on disabled toilet installations.
    • Bidet toilets and bidet seats, including suites with a built-in wash function. More on bidet installation.

We install all of them, in whatever brand you choose.

    How it works

    How a toilet installation works

    1

Call 1300 301 354 or book online. Tell us whether it is a new toilet or a replacement, and send a photo of the space. Text it directly to Daniel on 0405 030 479, or email it to [email protected].

    2

We measure up and quote a fixed price. Work begins only when you say yes.

    3

We arrive in the agreed window, and the plumber calls ahead.

    4

We remove the old toilet and take it off site.

    5

We fit the new suite, connecting the pan to the waste pipe and the cistern to the water supply.

    6

We test it with several flushes and check every connection for leaks, then clean up.

    Renovating

    Toilets in a renovation

In a new bathroom, the waste pipe position is set before the floor goes down, so choose the toilet early. A wall-hung toilet’s frame and cistern go in before the wall is sheeted and tiled. Tell your builder or tiler which toilet you have chosen, and we can rough in the pipes to suit it.

    Your options

    Repair or replace?

A toilet that runs on, leaks at the base or won’t flush properly may only need a repair. More on toilet repairs. A cracked pan or cistern needs replacing. If the same faults keep coming back after repairs, it can be worth pricing a new toilet once we’ve checked what is failing. An old single flush toilet is also worth replacing for the water saving alone.

    Pricing

    What does toilet installation cost?

The price is fixed before any work starts. It depends on:

    • The toilet itself, its type, and whether we supply it or you do.
    • Swap or change. A like-for-like swap is simpler than changing an S-trap to a P-trap or moving the toilet.
    • Wall-hung frames, which mean opening the wall and finishing it again.
    • Access, such as an upstairs bathroom with a narrow stair.

Measuring up and pricing the job is free on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, when there is no call-out fee. Book online and you’ll save $50, once you accept the quote.

    Water use

    Water ratings

Every new toilet sold in Australia carries a WELS water rating label, and more stars means less water. A typical 6/3 litre dual flush toilet rates 3 stars, and a 4.5/3 litre one rates 4 stars. An older single flush toilet can use 9 litres or more each flush. Swapping it for a 4 star dual flush toilet could cut its water use by more than half.

If you rent out a property, check the water efficiency rules too. Some states set minimum ratings for rentals, and a landlord whose property falls short may have to pay the water bills. Our article on NSW water efficiency certificates explains them.

    Questions people ask us

    Toilet installation questions

    How much is toilet installation?
It depends on the toilet, whether it is a straight swap and how easy the space is to work in. Changing the pipe connection or fitting a wall-hung toilet adds work. The fixed price comes before any work.
Can you install a toilet I have already bought?
Yes. Send us the model or a photo of the box first, so we can check it suits your waste pipe and set-out. Text it directly to Daniel on 0405 030 479, or email it to [email protected]. Keep it boxed until we arrive, so nothing gets chipped.
    What is a toilet set-out?
It is the distance from the wall or the floor to the centre of the waste pipe the toilet connects to. Each toilet lists the set-out range it fits. Measure yours before you buy, or text a photo directly to Daniel on 0405 030 479 or email it to [email protected].
What is the difference between an S-trap and a P-trap toilet?
An S-trap toilet connects to a waste pipe in the floor. A P-trap toilet connects to a waste pipe in the wall. The new toilet has to match, unless the pipe is changed. If the outlet disappears into the wall, it is a P-trap.
Do you take away the old toilet?
Yes. We take the old toilet with us once the new one is in. If you want to keep it, tell us when you book.
Can you move my toilet to a new spot?
Yes. Moving a toilet means moving its waste pipe and water supply, so it is a bigger job. We quote it on its own before any work starts.
Do I need a licensed plumber to replace a toilet?
Yes. In NSW, plumbing work needs a licence. A licensed plumber also makes sure the waste connection is sealed, so it doesn’t leak under the floor.
What does the WELS star rating mean for a toilet?
It shows how much water the toilet uses, based on four half flushes and one full flush a day. More stars means less water. A 4 star dual flush toilet uses less than a typical 3 star 6/3 litre model.
    Do you install wall-hung toilets?
Yes. A wall-hung toilet needs an in-wall frame and cistern, so it goes in while the wall is open during a renovation. We rough in the frame first and fit the pan once the tiling is done.
How long does a toilet installation take?
A straight swap is the quickest job. Changing the connection, moving the toilet or fitting a wall-hung toilet takes longer. We tell you how long when we quote.
