Fixing a yard that floods when it rains
Water that pools in the yard after rain usually has nowhere to go, or the drain it should go into is blocked, broken or too small. We find the cause first, often with a drain camera, then fix it.
That can mean clearing or replacing stormwater lines, adding pits and strip drains, or building an absorption trench where the water can soak away. The price is fixed before we start.

A household had recurring problems with rainwater collecting in the backyard, along with some sewer issues. We installed new stormwater lines around the house, added drainage pits, built an absorption trench and renewed the sewer pipework in the backyard. The owner was pleased with the result.
Arndell Park, October 2026: a strip drain and kerb to stop flooding
The yard flooded every time it rained. We dug a trench and added a new stormwater point, installed a new strip drain, then formed up and poured a concrete kerb.
North Kellyville, September 2026: a stormwater pit made safe
A stormwater pit riser sat too high above the grass and was a trip hazard. We cut the riser down as far as we could and sealed the lid.

Downpipes overflowing?
Blocked downpipe lines push water out at the joints and onto the ground. In Kenthurst in July 2026, we cleared the debris from the pits, jet blasted the lines and used a camera to check they were clear and in good condition.
Stormwater and sewer
Stormwater pipes carry rain from roofs and yards. Sewer pipes carry waste from the house. They’re separate systems. If the problem is a blocked sewer, see blocked drains.
What does backyard drainage cost?
The price is fixed before any work starts. It depends on:
- The cause, such as a blockage, a broken pipe or no drainage at all.
- How much new pipe, pits or drains the yard needs.
- Digging through soil or concrete, and access to the yard.
